The Cut

Just like anybody else, there are times when I'm not awesome, and some of my work doesn't make the cut. The client goes with a rough that took 5 minutes, instead of the one that took 5 hours. That's the way it goes. Just for kicks, I'm going to start posting some of the others so they don't feel so left-out. This one is for the band Nico Vega.

Back in the Day

I came across this little drawing from a few years ago that was semi-crumpled in my old bedroom at my parents' house. I remember drawing it really quickly in a time of turmoil. Makes me glad that chapter is done and over with!

THING and Glasses

It's been strange taking such a long break from you, but I've been focusing on THING (a design company I started with some good friends). Getting all of the legal stuff set-up is the most time consuming, but now that it's under control, here I am!!!! The THING website should be up soon, but there's already a full plate of projects underway.

This illustration pays homage to the new eyeglasses I picked-up from Happy Eyes in Burbank which was recommended to me at Old Focals vintage eyewear store in Pasadena. The glasses are pretty great and take up half of my face.

Rebecca

While I was in London, I got to hang-out with my pal (aka ex-flatmate/coworker/ap girl) Rebecca who is razmitaz. We walked her friend's dog in Victoria park and got up to no good as usual. Aside from that, she is an AMAZING photographer who shoots for I-D, Flaunt, and others. Here's a pic of her I took a couple of weeks ago in the house we used to share in Shoreditch.

I stole the top pics from her blog, which you can see here (The Horrors because their new album is majorly growing on me. Yah, it's a grower.)

Mhairi

I'm getting used to dry heat again, but missing London already. My friend Mhairi and I met in London a few years back at Central St.Martins and hit it off after moving-in with one another in the ditch. We went out a lot, drew pictures, and made each other laugh most of the time, not thinking we would ever work together as "adults". Yeah, I am using the term ADULTS extremely loosely. Why did it seem my parents had it together way more than I do when they were only 21? Anyway, Mhairi and I are working on a few projects together, but tried to spend some time doodling without any intentions. I just started a blog (still just a newborn) where we will be posting our creative spillage, but in the meantime, here are a couple below, and a picture I took of my friend Michelle (left) sitting with Mhairi in Holland park while we were having a drawing session.

Yeah

Here's the zillionth tribute to MJ. I think he would have liked it.

S P A C E

Yeah, I'm totally obsessed with everything that's beyond. The cat's out of the bag. What does that even mean? Hmmmm...

Michelle

This is what happens when I have too much coffee and can't focus on friends who are sitting right in front of me, spilling the beans.

London Calling

A bit delayed, but more to come. These are some pics from Hyde park, and the Hoxton Hotel. Cute pillows!

The Longest Journey Ever

Despite the mini pitfalls, I finally arrived in London around noon today. I'm staying at the Hoxton Hotel in Shoreditch for the first night to get some rest. Took some pics to post and realized I forgot my usb connection so I will try to find one tomorrow.

Maude

I was channeling a girl I used to know as a child, and 60s wall art.
Acrylic on canvas.

Rain!

The rain felt hot at my parents' house this afternoon. The drops were huge, and the sky was half blue, and half grey. Exactly how I feel about L.A.

She's so hot

Daniel gave me this sweet Japanese trinket because apparently it looks like me. Maybe he meant her style since I do love my crop-tops and leather mini-skirts. Oh yes, I do. Better go get my boot polish to get it shiny for tonight's affair.
